Stopping the shame and exploding the myths around abortion


Data from Marie Stopes Australia, and confirmed by our own experience, shows that women in their late 20s and 30s are far more likely to have abortions than teenagers. Unfortunately, despite this, a stereotype remains that women who get abortions are typically young, irresponsible and likely abandoned by a man who wants no part in the pregnancy.


Jemma decided to terminate an unplanned pregnancy as her second child was only six-months old. Almost 60 per cent of abortions are for women who already have kids. Read more >>>
